Loved this story and message. I struggle with this as well and now at the top of my Notion page for Medium, where I plan my stories, I have this quote of Henry David Thoreau: “How vain it is to sit down to write when you have not stood up to live.” Which reminds me to live first, and then only write when I have a story to tell.
